hiatus of verse
my skills have lain languishing
till the siren's call

I have addictions
wrapped up in black velvet cloth
locked behind a door

after far too long
turn the medium to heat
let there be haiku

Sneaky cat was stunned
up on the counter top by
red demon curry

Off to jog away
a ring of floatation gel
that could lift a saab

Okay, yes it's brown
and yes it's covered with mold
but it loves me so

Summer roses bloom
holding their velvet petals
high into the breeze

These wheels have rusted,
wet belts are now squeaking, but
I'm ready to roll

Cresting tsunami
Composed of naught but whiskey
Tumbling back to soil
