27 Years, 314 Days and 77281 Haiku later...

morning of this day
found me at my window desk
muse tugging away.

I put pen to paper
events of the night before
frighteningly fresh.

filthy rag doll imps
afflicted with great evil
bestowed with life.

my dull light sojourn
found our three paths crossing
ruining their nights fun.

air of rotting stench
memory of which so fresh
now experienced.

at the window sill
leaning for a closer glean
as if they could read.

malevolent eyes
quickly stared back up at me
no, they were not pleased.

down to west beach shore
crashing surf calling me on
orange gray sky over.

traveling up beach
a bit beyond merriment-
seldom visited.

impartial stones rest
not spectacular-
laying here and there.

seen in front of me
perhaps marking of a path-
colorful stone stack.

the shinny top three
impressing me being fine-
into my pocket.

glancing to the side
a thing stands menacingly-
with unsettled rage.

quickly off to home
silently to bed I went-
soon to be wakened.

in through the pet door
standing thing holding stone
striking me in head.

back to the far beach
carrying its colored stones-
where I do not go.
